I Opened Minecraft Malware And Found Ethereum 🤔

I expected Minecraft malware. Instead, I ended up tracing payload delivery through Ethereum smart contracts. Because apparently hiding malware behind game mods wasn’t ambitious enough. This analysis covers the infection chain, execution flow, and the creative decisions that led someone to combine blockchain infrastructure with malware distribution.

Reverse engineering old code, broken logic, questionable design decisions, and the occasional “what were they thinking?” moment. Not every sample deserves a full writeup. Sometimes I find something weird, stare at it for three hours, extract a few indicators, and move on with my life slightly more confused than before. This is where those findings live.

Code Archeology

Reverse engineering feels a lot like digging through ancient ruins, except the ruins are DLLs and the people who built them hated future generations. Here you’ll find strange functions, questionable logic, abandoned projects, and code that should probably be studied by historians.
